With Lucy's first birthday right around the corner, I've been thinking a lot about goodie bags. Yes, I'm a thirty something mom with a master's degree, and I have goodie bags on the brain. #momlife.
For Charlie's last 3 birthdays, I've gone out and spent a fortune on cute little bags filled with plastic crap and candy, because I felt like I had to. But you know what? I can't stand this stuff. As good as the intention may be, I hate coming home from a kid's birthday party with half a dozen tiny little trinkets that clutter my house and serve as a perfect choking hazard for Lucy. And Charlie plays with the stuff for a good 30 minutes, and then he is done with it.
So this year? Screw the goodie bags.
Spoiler alert for those who are coming to Lucy's party. You're leaving with a balloon, and maaaaaybe if I get my ass in gear, some bubbles.
You're welcome :)
