Both of my kids started eating solids fairly early on in their lives. We had a very short window of spoon feeding purees and it wasn't because I was a strong advocate for baby lead weaning. Rather I was lazy and impatient, and didn't want to be tied up spoon feeding my kids while I watched dinner burn on the stove.
Don't judge me ;)
Regardless of the reason, it worked pretty well. However I remember being totally overwhelmed and often hitting a blank with what foods I could give them early on, when they had little to no teeth. So I thought I'd share my list (yes I kept a list) with other moms who are going through this or are thinking about starting solids!
Of course, these are just my personal recommendations, and so please be mindful that not all babies will be ready for solids at the same time. I also highly recommend watching a few YouTube videos on baby choking. Someone in one of our Momidarity groups recommended this, and while it sounds creepy, it was incredibly educational and made me feel more confident and knowledgeable about the differences between choking and gagging.
Okay, enough weird stuff. You came for the list, so here it is!
