It's been an exciting few months as we prepare for our official launch of Momidarity, and so I thought I'd dedicate a few blog posts to the journey that got us here.
Let me start by telling you about my partner in crime, Joe.
The idea for Momidarity had been stewing in the back of my mind ever since I went back to work after Charlie was born. I felt passionate about the value and benefit of online support groups, but I have to credit Joe, my brother, for providing the motivation and business savvy to turn the idea into a reality! Joe and I have always been close, but this is the first time in our adult lives that we've worked on something "real" together, and I've learned we make a great team. Oh our parents would be so proud! First, we have a lot in common. We each are very hard working, organized, enjoy a challenge, and have a passion for entreprenuership. But we are also very different. I'm obviously closer to the mission of the Momidarity groups, given that I'm an actual mom, and tend to focus my energy on the look and details of the "product". But Joe brings an incredible level of business, finance and marketing skill to the team that I don't have, and are so critical. I would say that so far our biggest challenge has been managing the work load on top of our full time jobs, family and social obligations, and something we learned quickly into the launch, working around our different time zones! I'm on the East Coast and go to bed early, and Joe is on the West Coast, and works well at night. Still, we've managed to find time to connect regularly, thanks in great part to online collaboration tools and the internet, and I'm so excited to continue on this venture with him!
If you are currerntly a part of or have joined one of our past sessions, you won't see or hear much from Joe, but know he is likely responsible for bringing us together!
