Happy Monday everyone! We celebrated Lucy's 1st birthday this weekend, and boy am I feeling all the feelings! I'm relieved - we made it through this wild year, I'm sad - my baby is growing up so fast! But I'm also excited - she is getting more fun by the day and I can't wait to see her already budding personality, explode. She's proving to be such a happy, curious and sassy little lady and I can't get enough!
As you may know from previous posts, we're also in the process of sleep training this midnight snacking one year old, and I decided to bring you along on the journey in the hopes that our experience is helpful to others out there in a similar boat.
For a recap on where we're at, read this and this post first...
And now for night 3, 4, 5 and 6... In a nutshell, PROGRESS!
Night 3: April 20th
This was our worst night yet. Lucy woke at 2:15 and was on an off fussing, so we delayed the check in, hoping she'd settle. By 2:45, she was still up and crying so Tony did a check in and she was good for about an hour. 3:30am, up again and 2 more check ins. Asleep by 4, and I eventually had to wake her at 6:45 to get to daycare. #tiredparents
Night 4: April 21st
We're getting somewhere! Woke at 4am, two interval check ins and back to sleep. Woke up and was playing happily with a book in her crib at 6:45.
Night 5: April 22nd
Up with on and off fussing from 12:30-1:30. We switched off with check ins, and she eventually went back to bed, up at 6am.
Night 5: April 23rd
Best night so far! Up at 4am, two check ins and back to bed by 4:30. Had to wake her for school at 6:45.
I definitely think we're getting somewhere! There is not much rhyme or reason to her middle of the night wake time, but the length of time seems to be decreasing, and one of the best outcomes is her later morning wake time. Feeling hopeful, and will report back in a few days, as we end the week of training!
