Hey pretty mama! Your perfectly posed Facebook and Instagram pictures?
They don't fool me.
I know it took 37 attempts to get all of your kids (and partner) to smile at the camera for the holiday card photo.
I know the only reason your kitchen looks clean is because all the food is on the floor.
I know that adorable outfit your three year old is wearing did not come without a physical fight and some major TV bribery.
I know those pinterestly perfect cupcakes you brought to the pre-school potluck last week were batch #4.
I know little Suzy is not sleeping 12 hour stretches every night. But if she is, seriously, what's your secret???
I get it though. I've done it too. I once posted this picture of me and the kids with the caption "Sunday morning snuggles". Looks so sweet and fun, right?
Fooled ya. Because in reality what was happening was me sharing a pillow with two overtired kids at the ass crack of dawn, simultaeously wiping up spit up (those aren't cute PJs, that's a burp cloth on my chest) while my husband slept soundly on the other side of the bed... Probably dreaming of fantasy football.
Smile for the camera, kiddos!!!
So lets stop pretending everything is clean, organized, and fun and start sharing the mess that parenthood really is. Because no one likes a faker ;)
