The childrens shoe industry is evil. They know most moms are suckers for an adorable pair of baby shoes. Especially when they are replicas of adult shoes.
Case on point. Baby Nikes.
I mean, seriously.
But they are SO. DAMN. EXPENSIVE!
I tried to get away with just one pair of shoes for Lucy, but shortly after she started walking, I realized we needed several backup pairs. See Lucy, like most one year olds, loves to explore. She also loves taking things out of boxes and walking around the house with them. But rarely does she put them back in the right place, which left me scrambling the other morning, looking for her missing right shoe.
Now let me tell you, I searched EVERYWHERE. Even the toilet.
But no right shoe.
Fortunately I had a pair of $3 knock off crocks from Walmart (score!!) so I was able to avoid sending her to daycare barefoot, but this hunt for the shoe drove me CRAZY for days and was a good lesson that we need one if not several backups.
One week later, I found the shoe in our hallway shoe closet. I know. DUH. But to play it safe, I promptly ordered a pair of baby converse, which may just be the cutest things in the entire world.
